In 12 years of buying concert tickets online, never have I experienced as quick a turnaround as this. These are Sean’s and my U2 tickets for Giants Stadium later this year — we just ordered these last Monday, and they showed up in the mailbox today. Amazing. If memory serves, Ticketmaster usually waits about a month before sending tickets, unless it’s really urgent.
Still gonna try to get tickets for the 2nd Giants Stadium show, too, which we’ll both go to if I can get the tix. Then it looks like I’ll be going solo to the Vegas show in October. And that’ll probably be it for me … unless I decide to take on a bunch of new clients and have them finance it all.

Just to follow-up on last night’s post about haircuts and lawn care … Sean took this photo of me while I was out in the back yard yesterday. He’s loving his camera.

With Barry traveling and Danny under the weather, I was a blogging madman last week on Search Engine Land. Which meant I never got around to a few things I wanted to write on my own blogs. Those’ll get done this coming week for sure…

Those are two things I really can’t stand doing, but love when they’re done. I love my hair super-short, and I love my lawn looking freshly cut. It’s just the actual haircut and the lawn mowing that I don’t like much.
In any case, despite predictions of a weekend full of rain and high winds, today was almost perfect … and plenty good for the first lawn cutting of the year.
Maybe best of all, the lawn mower started right up with a new tank of gas and last year’s oil. Gotta go get some new oil, though. After the lawn, I fixed two sprinkler heads that needed to be capped, and ran out to Home Depot to buy some much-needed tools.
Spring is most certainly here.
Only downside is that I’m dead tired and sore from head to toe. I’m gonna pay the price tomorrow for this sudden burst of energy. Good thing Sean’s just about old enough to start cutting the lawn. One more summer and then it’s all his….

I almost hate to say it and complain about it, but wow … the Girl Scout cookie boxes this year are really, really small.
The box used to be about the length of a shoebox, but not quite as tall. This year’s boxes are barely 8 inches long, and much thinner/shorter. They’re tiny. This box only had 15 Samoas in it, and even the cookies were smaller than normal!
Times are tough, aren’t they?

I probably would’ve done more blogging this week, but for March Madness. Had to devote considerable time to my online contest (3rd annual, I’m tied for 8th) and then … here’s the beauty of being your own boss and working from home … spent Thursday and Friday with the laptop on a tray table, parked out in the family room watching hoops all day long. It was beautiful.

Not that anyone would notice, but I was smart: I did most of that blogging early in the week before the college hoops started. Gonna try to do the same this week….

Here’s goofyhead’s latest photo. He loves to play fetch, but seems to forget that he’s supposed to give me the ball back.
Took him to the vet a few days ago and learned that he weighs 61-flippin’ pounds now. 61! Sure enough, I almost threw my back out on Saturday when I tried to lift him into the tub.
BTW, Tara doesn’t even weigh 61 pounds.

With last week’s trip to Portland keeping me busy, I never did a blogging recap, so now I get to look super-prolific by putting two weeks of blog posts into this one. How exciting!

Look at that … I’m a blogging madman when you see two weeks of posts at a time.

So much of our success in life is about outlook and attitude. Not others’ … but yours.
By the way, we have both of these articles on @U2:
U2’s ‘Horizon’ premieres with sky-high sales numbers
U2’s ‘Horizon’ sales bring band back to Earth
The same Billboard expert is interviewed in both articles. The same sales figures appear in both articles. And yet you couldn’t find two more different headlines if you tried.
It’s all a matter of perspective.

Longtime MattMcGee.com readers (AKA, my family) will remember me raving about The Kingdom last year — it’s one of my all-time favorite movies. Cari even watched it a couple weeks ago and also loved it. So there.
Anyhoo … got an Amazon alert today about a huge Blu-Ray DVD sale they have going on, and whaddya know? They have The Kingdom for only $14.49 – nice! There’s also Iron Man, LOST Season 4, Ratatouille, and lots of others. This is way tempting.
