I don’t know if Google+ will be a success in the long run, and I strongly suspect that it’ll never advance beyond being a facebook/Twitter hybrid for the tech crowd, but this much I know: The killer feature of Google+ isn’t video chat or anything else. It’s this:
No matter what Google service/property you’re on, those red notifications go everywhere you go. If you’re actively commenting and posting, or being followed a lot, you keep getting sucked back in to see what the latest notification says.
Very smart, Google. They’ve made it nearly impossible — at least for the search industry — to avoid Google+.
