I was in New York earlier this month, and I now officially have a new tradition: On every trip to New York City, I’m going to make sure to eat a meal — or at least dessert — at Junior’s Cheesecake. And the tradition is going to include a slice of Devil’s Food Cheesecake. It’s a slice of heaven!
Thanks to the generosity of Arnie Kuenn (owner of Vertical Measures in Phoenix), I had a enormous slice of that cheesecake after a delicious dinner with him, his wife, and several other SEO-industry friends during the SMX East conference. I had the same meal at SES New York in March 2008 (with my wife, too!) and, when you do the same thing twice, that’s the start of a tradition.
In case it’s not obvious, that’s a slice of cheesecake sitting inside a slice of Devil’s Food cake. Unreal. And what you see above is the version that Junior’s sells via its web site. The slice I had in their restaurant has an extra layer of chocolate cake on top. Wow…..

As long as we’re starting new traditions, let’s begin a new tradition. Whenever you return from your NYC trip, I’ll order two cheesecakes for the family! One plain, for the kids (who am I kidding, only you and I like cheesecake), and one for us (see, they’re both for us! I’m soooo clever!).
