New Home Building: Day 2

November 30, 2011

I spent all day telling myself not to go over to the new house to see what was going on. I wanted to … all day … but managed to resist. I stayed strong. I stayed home.

And then Cari returned from a visit with friends in Portland and said she stopped by the new house before coming home. And she made me go over and check out all the activity, breaking my will like a weak stick.

And holy cow, was she right: lots going on!

There must’ve been 7-8 guys working (you can see four in the photo) on the base/foundation. It looks like they’re positioning the base material there so that they can lay the concrete foundation. But what do I know??

I know this:

I promise not to go over there every day.

I promise not to write a new blog post every time they put up a new 2×4.

I promise to stay strong and remain calm.

Unless Cari makes me break my promises again!

Are basements not a thing out your way?

Phil – some of our neighbors will have basements, but ours won’t.

Oh, yeah, like in the Bible – “I didn’t want to eat the apple, Lord. It was that woman you put me here with…”

Hee hee hee! Thank for coming over when I asked. It’s so thrilling!
