THIS JUST IN: They’ve Started Building Our House

ZOMG, I wish I had words to express the feeling when I drove over to where our new house will be built just now and saw this:

They’ve started building our house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, well actually, that’s not technically correct. They haven’t started building anything — not in the sense that “building” means something is going up off the ground. But, as you can see, they’ve started digging the ground into trenches that I presume are for plumbing and who-knows-what.

And, as the bottom picture below shows, there’s a flatbed trailer there with a bunch of 2x4s and concrete and other stuff that I assume will be used when it’s time to lay the foundation.

This is just beyond exciting. You have no idea. Wish I could put it into words.
